At LKPR airport you can enjoy a very close view to landing and/or departing aircrafts from some locations.

The official "observing area" is located at the roof of "connecting block" between terminals 1 and 2 (marked "10" on the map). There you can observe aicrafts at the stads 14 - 21.

If you wish to enjouy more dynamic view, it is necessary to leave the terminal and move to some other location.

The most common runway in use is rwy 24. The best place to observe landing traffic for rwy 24 is marked "1" and "2" at the picture below - both are easily accessible by car or City transport bus (15 minutes to walk from bus stop "Predni Kopanina"). Departing aircraft (as well as a cargo apron) can be observed well from the place marked "12" - a small hill near the cargo area. Here you can enjoy a very close view to aircrafts taxying to holding point of runway 24  

To observe landing traffic for rwy 06 we can recommend points marked "5" and "6", both accessible by car.

When rwy 31 is in use, you can observe approaching traffic at the point marked "8" at the map. The point is accessible by 10 minutes walk from "Drnovska" street - City bus stop "Dlouha mile". You can also use a roof parking lot of "SESTKA" shopping center (point number 13).

At the terminal area (marked 11), the best view provides you the roof of the parking building in front of the terminal. The access to parking is limited to owners of parked cars only. Another possibility gives you the area between Departure terminal and Cargo terminals, where aicrafts taxiing for rwy 24 departure can be observed well. Both parking and Cargo areas are 5 minutes to walk away from city bus stop "Letiste Ruzyne" (Airport Ruzyne).

The legal notice: it is absolutly legal to take pictures of aircraft and/or airports in the Czech Republic. Due to security reasons, some public areas at the airport are marked as "Restricted" - for example the parking area at the terminal North.  Please follow the instructions of the security personnel to leave the area, if you enter such area occasionally. On the other hand, the security personnel of the Airport Prague is not allowed to check your IDs, Passports etc. - only Police officer can do that. Outside the airport area (observing points 1-9, 13) there is no restriction to stay, observe and make photographs of the aircrafts. Police officers can check your identity there under the same rules as anywhere in the Czech Republic.
